Through ACTIVE WORDS, Our teaching artists will work with classroom teachers to develop an individualized experience to meet the needs of each classroom. All of the members of Commonwealth Classic Theatre Company are passionate about theatre, and we feel privileged to have the opportunity to share it with the communities in which we live.

As Elliot Eisner points out in The Arts and the Creation of Mind, the arts go beyond the literal and allow students to explore that which they have not directly experienced. What better way to engage students in exploring the unfamiliar than through a theatre experience that will allow them to learn not only about the script being studied, but also the greater context of how the work reflects the culture of the time in which it was written, as well as our world today.
